England vs Germany Player Ratings

England beat Germany at Wembley in front of 45,000 fans to set up a round of 16 clash with Ukraine at Euro 2020. Below are the England vs Germany Player Ratings

Manuel Neuer – 6

nothing out of the ordinary from the goalkeeper. Good distribution in the first half but less so in the second.

Matthias Ginter – 5

After being the stand-out defender in the tournament, Ginter had a bad outing with Sterling getting the better of him on many occasions.

Mats Hummels – 7

The experienced defender stepped up on the big occasion and thwarted the English forwards multiple times apart from the goals.

Antonio Rudiger – 6

Rudiger had a solid performance at the back but could not shrug sterling off the ball for the lead up to the goal.

Joshua Kimmich – 6

Kimmich likes to bomb forward but was pegged back by the English wingers and wing-backs and was much less effective.

Toni Kroos – 5

Kroos was below par for much of the match and lost out to Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips in the heart of midfield.

Leon Goretzka – 7

Goretzka replaced Gundogan in the starting line-up and was arguably Germany’s best player. His late runs caused problems for the English defence and interceptions stopped the flow of the game.

Robin Gosens – 5

Gosens was a shadow of himself in the game today with Kieran Trippier and Bukayo Saka not allowing him the freedom to attack.

Kai Havertz – 7

Looked lively for most of the match and found his Chelsea teammate Timo Werner with a brilliant through ball.

Thomas Muller – 5

Along with his experienced teammate Kroos, Muller had a disappointing game. He missed a huge chance to bring his side level which proved the turning point of the game.

Timo Werner – 5

Replaced Serge Gnabry in the lineup but was below par for much of the game.
