Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing an “incredible” job at Manchester United, according to David Beckham.

The boss of the Red Devils has come under fire after his team’s FA Cup quarter-final loss to Leicester on Sunday.

Solskjaer is yet to secure a trophy since taking over at Old Trafford in 2018, but he has the full support of his former United teammate, David Beckham.

The co-owner of Inter Miami, who won five Premier League titles with Solskjaer, told ESPN: “I’ve seen some of the criticism. But I think because you’re the manager of Manchester United and they’ve enjoyed success over the years, there was always going to be a moment where people get criticized, whether it’s the players, the owners, or the manager.”

Ole has been around long enough to be able to take some sort of critique.

“He’s very quiet, he gets on with his job, and I think he’s done a fantastic job down at United. The findings are beginning to demonstrate this. Hopefully, it will continue because the fans adore Ole, and we all want him to succeed. So as the backlash comes, he’s the one who can handle it.”

Solskjaer said that tiredness was a factor in United’s defeat at Leicester, even though they had only three days earlier defeated AC Milan at the San Siro to advance to the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Europa League is the most possible hope for the Red Devils to win a trophy this season since they are 14 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has told talkSPORT that if Solskjaer fails to lead his team to European glory, he will be fired.
