Patrick Schick scored for the third time at Euro 2020 as the Czech Republic salvaged a draw against Croatia in Group D. He scored from the penalty spot after the first controversial decision by VAR. Dejan Lovren was penalized for catching Schick when both jumped for the ball. Referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande was asked to check the pitchside monitor. After doing so, he awarded the penalty to the Czech Republic.
Croatia hit back at the Czech Republic shortly after half-time when Ivan Perisic scored a brilliant solo goal. The rest of the match swung both ways with Croatia having the best chance to win the game. Nikola Vlasic skied his effort with just the keeper to beat. A point each leaves the group wide open.
