Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has completed his medical ahead of joining Roma. In the latest transfer news, talks between the player and club moved ahead after Roma general manager Tiago Pinto spoke to the player in London. He convinced Abraham that he will be a key part of their plans moving forward. It is understood that the striker will sign a five-year contract at the club. Different sources have reported that Chelsea will have an €80m buyback option.

Despite finishing the season as Chelsea’s top scorer, Tammy Abraham fell out of favor with new coach Thomas Tuchel after he replaced Frank Lampard. Chelsea recently signed inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku for a club-record £97.5m. The arrival of Lukaku pushes Abraham even further down the pecking order at the club.

“Tammy is right now in the squad. He did some good preparation matches.” Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said. “He was clearly not happy with the last half a year and maybe he has reason also not to be happy and maybe it was also my fault not to push him, not to trust him on the same level I maybe trusted other players.”

“I can absolutely understand that he wants more minutes,” he added. ”So the decision will be ‘how do we plan, what are Tammy’s plans, does he fight his way back into the team from the position where he ended last season or does he want to change the club to have the chance of being a regular starter?'”
