Carlo Ancelotti: “We have done enough to win”

Football News

The results of the League Cup quarter-final against Manchester United were summed up by Everton head coach Carlo Ancelotti (0-2).

“We have done enough to win: we have played well, we have defended well. We dominated the game after 20 minutes. We didn’t attack much, but until the 70th minute, we defended well,” Ancelotti told Sky Sports.

They had more ownership; they had a bigger team, so we had to protect ourselves. The game went the way we expected, except we had some risky counterattacks. In the center of the pitch, we left too much space and that allowed Cavani to show his best qualities by scoring a great goal.

The exit leaves us disappointed, but we have no regrets. We were playing well, the players were sacrificing themselves, they were working hard.

Yeah, we have lost, but we are looking forward.”
