Gianluigi Buffon, the Juventus goalkeeper, will miss the Turin derby after being disqualified for “blasphemy” during the match against Parma.
The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the Federal Prosecutor’s appeal, and the veteran goalie was suspended for one game. Buffon was also fined €5,000 for making a “blasphemous gesture” towards the Gialloblu on December 19.
“The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the Federal Prosecutor’s appeal, imposing one match of disqualification on Gianluigi Buffon,” according to the release.
“The Juventus goalkeeper, who was fined €5,000 by the National Federal Court, had been referred for uttering a phrase involving a blasphemous word during the match against Parma last December 19.”
