Arsenal have agreed on a £50m deal to sign Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion. Two bids of £40m and £47m were rejected in June. over the past month. Both clubs are said to have come to an agreement on the transfer fee. The defender is said to be expected to complete his medical once he returns from holiday after Euro 2020.
White left Southampton in 2014 before securing a move to Brighton. He was then loaned out to Newport County, Peterborough United, and Leeds United. He was a major part of the backline that helped Leeds United gain promotion to the Premier League. Ben White broke into the Brighton and Hove Albion first team at the start of last season and will be hoping to do the same at Arsenal this season. Brighton had the best defensive record amongst teams at the bottom of the table last season.
Arsenal needs to sure things up at the back with Hector Bellerin allegedly telling the club he would like to leave in the summer. Arsenal are in talks with Inter Milan over a loan deal with an obligation to buy. The Italian side would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy. It is reported that Bellerin would be happy with a mover to Italy with his contract ending in 2023. He has no interest in extending his stay at the emirates.
Albert Sambi Lokonga’s move from Anderlecht to Arsenal will be finalized once the player is out of quarantine. Lokonga is in London after a deal was agreed on last week. He will need to take final medical checks before the deal is officially announced, with the fee believed to be around £15m.
