Bayern Munich will not join the race for Erling Braut Haaland

Football News

The first leg of the Champions League pitted football’s two brightest prospects, Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, against each other. Both players were instrumental in their team’s Champions League win. This summer, Haaland is expected to ignite a transfer contest, and Bayern Munich will be mentioned.

Many of Europe’s top clubs are interested in signing the young Norwegian striker. Despite how strong Borussia Dortmund’s striker has been in the last two seasons, Bild reports that Bayern will not pursue him in a transfer battle.

Robert Lewandowski, the best striker in the world, already plays for Die Roten. The Polish striker is improving with each passing year, just like a fine wine. It’s almost difficult to keep Lewandowski out of the squad right now, so putting a lot of money into Haaland this summer isn’t a good idea.

In the summer transfer window, the German Champions have other goals. Instead of adding a forward to the team, they need to strengthen the midfield. A winger, in addition to midfield, could be higher on the club’s transfer list for next season.

Die Roten cannot afford to sign a player like Haaland this summer due to financial constraints. There may be a bidding war for him because he is wanted by many clubs. Rekordmeister is unable to commit a nine-figure fee for the Norwegian striker due to the financial pressure caused by the pandemic.

Bayern Munich will be hoping that Dortmund will keep Haaland for another season. In a year, the German champions could be more willing to add a striker. By the start of the 2022/23 season, Lewandowski will be 34 years old, and Die Roten will have to start searching for a replacement.

According to reports, Haaland’s deal has a termination clause that kicks in next summer. As long as they sell the project to the player, Die Roten will be able to prevent a bidding war. If the fans return to the stadium next year, Rekordmeister will be able to make the move.
