Bayern Munich chief announces to aim to extend the deal for Niklas Sule

Football News

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced that the club would aim to extend the deal for Niklas Sule, who had emerged as a possible transfer choice for Chelsea.

Even before the arrival of new manager Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea had been planning to sign a young but experienced center-back in the summer, and with Sule, his name was added to the radar due to joining the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season.

Bayern is expected to decide on Sule’s future this summer, with earlier reports indicating that he will be sold for close to £ 27m if he fails to sign a new contract, but Rummenigge said he hopes to avoid losing another defender.

“According to Spox, Rummenigge said, “We want good German national players at FC Bayern. Niklas already has a deal for one year. We will have talks to see where they lead. Until the summer, we will look at it seriously and calmly. The coronavirus has also caused FC Bayern financial harm. We are generally happy to extend the contract if we find a solution, but that will only be feasible under certain conditions.”
