According to an article in La Vanguardia, the presidential elections in Barcelona are scheduled to take place on Sunday 17 January.

The report notes that the date will allow the current interim board to negotiate and encourage the signing of the first team in the January transfer window.

The resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu, the former Supreme Club, was confirmed last month and Carlos Tusquets is Blaugrana’s new interim president.

Tusquets now needs to evaluate the club’s financial condition and determine how to proceed with the planned salary cuts, but he will not run for election.

It must be recalled that voting could be extended to more than one day in the sense of the pandemic and that locations are geographically dispersed to comply with health laws to prevent contagion.
