Gareth Bale, a Tottenham Hotspur and Wales midfielder, has expressed his readiness to participate in a huge social media boycott.

“I’m ready if we can do it together if it’s not just one or two guys. If a coordinated effort including prominent figures from the world of sport and other realms began, and a general announcement was made, I believe I might assist,” Bale told Sky Sports.

“If the case evolves in that way, I am all about it.”

Earlier, former France striker Thierry Henry resigned from social media in protest of the platforms’ refusal to address bigotry and violence.
