Manchester United, Everton, and Paris Saint-Germain are all allegedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier. With Atletico Madrid just one game away from securing their first LaLiga title in seven years, the right-back has been a revelation in the Spanish capital.
Since joining for £20 million from Tottenham in 2019, he has become a constant in Diego Simeone’s hands. Trippier, who is 30, is in the final year of his contract. And according to The Athletic, he is planning to return to England this summer.
According to the paper, Manchester United and Everton are interested in taking Trippier back to the Premier League. While PSG, managed by Trippier’s former manager Mauricio Pochettino, is also a possibility.
The Red Devils are looking for a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has played 33 of the total 36 league games this season.
Carlo Ancelotti has used Seamus Coleman, Ben Godfrey, and Mason Holgate as right-backs for Everton this season and is expected to add to that spot in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, PSG has been linked with Hector Bellerin of Arsenal and Serge Aurier of Tottenham Hotspur. And with Pochettino a huge fan of Trippier.
The FA banned the England international from football for 10 weeks in December after he broke betting laws. Trippier, on the other hand, has been an important part of Atletico’s championship charge since his return to play in March. If Atletico Madrid defeats Valladolid this weekend, they will secure LaLiga.
Trippier is competing with Reece James, Kyle Walker, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The competition is for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.
