Arsenal take valuable win with Lacazette brace from the bench

Football News

The second-half goal of substitute Alexandre Lacazette was enough to ensure that Arsenal won back-to-back league games for the first time since September after a 1-0 Brighton success.

In the first half, Arsenal was particularly weak, not recording a single shot on target, but returning skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was expected to score from close range early in the second half, with Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez doing a brilliant save with his knee.

The visitors held the pressure on and Lacazette fired home his third goal in as many games just 21 seconds after coming off the bench to give the Gunners the lead in the 66th minute.

After a nightmare opening several months to the season, Brighton could not find a way past a determined Arsenal, who kept on to start their climb back up the table.
