Arsenal owners Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke have revealed they are not interested in selling any stake in the club. There has been speculation of a takeover bid from Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek recently. Ek is the co-founder and chief executive of Spotify, a music streaming service. He had enlisted the help of three Invincibles – Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Patrick Vieira to help with the purchase of the club.

“In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,” read a statement released by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE). “We remain 100 percent committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.”

“Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this.” the statement added.

The statement has been made following days of speculation after Daniel Ek threw his hat into the ring. There has been a number of protests by Arsenal fans against Stan Kroenke after the club announced that they were a part of the European Super League. 48 hours after announcing their involvement the club withdrew from the competition.

Ek has revealed that he is open to having fan representation in the board room. He definitely has the funds to make the deal happen and has made it clear that he is dead serious about it. Forbes values Ek at £3.38billion (€4.7billion). He was named by Billboard as the most influential person in the music industry in 2017.
