Arsenal: Emile Smith Rowe

Emile Smith Rowe has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal and handed the No 10 shirt. He was in sublime form for the Gunners scoring four goals and providing seven assists in 33 appearances in all competitions. Arsenal had already rejected two bids for the player from Aston Villa. The second bid was reportedly worth £30m.

“As we all saw last season, Emile is an intelligent player with excellent ability.” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said about Emile Smith Rowe. “His sharpness on the turn and exceptional vision have already made him a key player for us. His attitude and willingness to learn have also been very impressive.”

“I know the fans will join us in being delighted that Emile has committed his future to the club. We’re now looking forward to helping him develop further and seeing him become even more important to the strong young team we’re building,” he added.

The creativity and goal threat of Smith Rowe along with his off-the-ball work rate are his ain qualities. the fact that arsenal have given him the no 10 jersey is a testament to his value at the club. Although his goals and assists don’t give a true indication of his form last season, it is clear Arsenal are looking to rebuild around him and Bukayo Saka. The hope now is that with the No 10 on his back, his exciting development will continue in the years to come. This could prove to be Arsenal’s best piece of business this summer.
