Angelo Ogbonna: It is a great time to be a West Ham player

Angelo Ogbonna West Ham

Angelo Ogbonna believes this is the best time to be a West Ham player after a good start to the season. The London club has a chance to move into the top four for the first time this season if a couple of results go their way. They host their London rivals in a derby clash just one point ahead of them. Ogbonna has effortlessly formed a partnership with new signing Kurt Zouma and the hair has a good backup with Craig Dawson and Issa Diop waiting in the wings.

“It is too early to talk about top four,” West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna said. “It has been a really good start right from pre-season. We have lost two games, but that is part of the process, although expectations are so high now. It has been a good, positive start, even in Europe we have played well and we have used all the squad, which is competitive, with everyone fighting for their places. And that is what you want.”

“We are looking forward to it, but I do not want to put too much pressure on the game, because there is a lot of pressure already,” he added. “But when we are really focussed and prepare in the right way, that is the best way. Everyone knows the importance of the game and we want the fans 100 percent behind us. You see him at Chelsea and everyone knows his abilities. He has been around for many years, even in the Premier League and it is really good to have him here.”
