Andres Iniesta surgery to keep him out for up to four months

Former Barcelona player Andres Iniesta has posted on social media following an operation to repair a tear in his rectus femoris muscle. Andres Iniesta has confirmed that he has undergone surgery in Barcelona for an injury which is expected to keep him out for up to four months.

The former Barca midfielder suffered a tear in his rectus femoris muscle while playing for Vissel Kobe in an AFC Champions League tie against Suwon Bluewings.

The Spaniard had an operation back in his homeland, with Dr. Ramon Cugat administering the procedure, after further review by the medical staff of the Japanese club.

By sharing a hospital photo on social media, Iniesta made clear that he is already working on a return to action in 2021.
