Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved has announced that Andrea Pirlo and Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the club but has put doubt on the future of Paulo Dybala.
The coach is under fire after a 1-0 defeat at home to Benevento. The Old Lady trail Inter by ten points and are in danger of losing their tenth consecutive Scudetto.
“Pirlo is and will be the Juventus coach for the near future,” Nedved told DAZN.
“We started a new project with him thinking it would be complicated. We had hoped to do so, but we were unable to do so. We’re calm, and Pirlo has what it takes to be a great coach,” he said.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is still uncertain, with many Spanish media outlets reporting that CR7 might return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
“Ronaldo, in my opinion, would not quit. He has a deal that expires in June 2022, and he intends to commit. We’ll see what happens after that. Cristiano Ronaldo propelled us to the peak of football’s Olympus, both technically and in terms of picture. He scored over 100 goals in 120 games and, on top of that, pulled us into the Champions League. He’s a simple man, even though he does not seem to be so from the outside. He is the model of a modern player who has accomplished tremendous goals through extraordinary creativity and hard work.
We were without Dybala. I don’t think he’s played more than 800 minutes for us this season. His involvement will provide us with more choices right away. He has one year left on his terms, and I can’t say much to what Paratici and Agnelli have already written. Juventus will examine any available business opportunity.”
