Achraf Hakimi: Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of left wing-back Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan. Hakimi joins Paris Saint-Germain on the back of a title-winning season with the Milan club under Antonio Conte. Champions League winners Chelsea had matched the bid of £51.3m  from the French club.

“I feel a lot of pride today. After my experiences in Spain, Germany, and Italy, Paris Saint-Germain offers me the opportunity to discover a new championship under the colors of one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.” Achraf Hakimi said after joining Paris Saint-Germain. “I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, the fans, and feel the extraordinary fervor that reigns at the Parc des Princes. I share the same very high ambitions with the staff and the players and will do everything to give my club what it expects of me. ”

Hakimi will become PSG’s third signing of the summer after they secured the services of Georginio Wijnaldum after his contract expired at Liverpool. The club also signed Danilo Pereira on a permanent basis after the midfielder was on loan last season. Gianluigi Donnarumma was the third signing made by the French club after his contract ran out at AC Milan.

“We are happy to welcome Achraf Hakimi to Paris. The signing of a player of this stature shows the level of our ambitions. We continue to build something very special.” Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Paris Saint-Germain’s president said. “Achraf is only 22 years old, but he’s already established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world of football, and that’s the standard we set for ourselves at the club. I know Achraf will have a fantastic career with us and the whole club wish him every success under our colors.”
