Vincent Kompany has left his role as Anderlecht manager while finding his name on the shortlist to succeed Sean Dyche at Burnley. There has been no decision made by the club after their relegation from the Premier League. The interim manager Mike Jackson picked up 11 points from the eight games in charge but it was not enough to save the club from relegation.
Today only one feeling prevails: I am proud that I was able to start this new chapter at the club of my heart. I have now been a player and a coach of RSC Anderlecht, but above all, I remain a loyal fan,” Vincent Kompany said. “I will sit down with the board [this summer]. We’ll see if the goals for next season are achievable. Shouting about winning is one thing, doing it is another.”
“I’ve just not thought about [the job] at all. All my thoughts have been how can we achieve what we want to do,” Burnley interim manager Mike Jackson said. “We’ve not spoken about it. We’ve not had time to even think about that. My full focus has been on trying to achieve this. Let’s see what happens on Monday morning. Fingers crossed everything goes how we want, then we’ll have a good Monday.”
