Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah believes it’s not the right time to talk about his contract situation with the team on course for the quadruple. It has been reported that the Egyptian is close to signing a new contract with the club with his current contract set to expire in 2023. Earlier Jurgen Klopp revealed that he was happy with the contract talks taking place between the decisive parties behind the scenes.

“Well not much but honestly, what I can say is there are many things people don’t know about it. I can’t be selfish and talk about my situation. We are in the most important period for the team so I have to just talk about the team and focus on what is coming with the team and that is the most important thing. That is all I can say. Hopefully, we are going to be more optimistic and see what is going to happen,” Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah said. “I can’t say yes, I can’t say no but I have said many times before about what I want. But again, I can’t go deep into my contract now because it is a really sensitive situation. The team needs to win and I can’t be just going into the news and just talking about my contract. I just focus on the team, and that is it.”

“I’ve talked with the manager from time to time and I’m very professional, I know my job very well,” he added. “I’m almost the first one here and the last one to leave. I know what I am doing. So, I am not bothered about that. I am just focussing on the team. That is the most important thing for me. I’m focused to win trophies and I am giving everything to the club that I can.”
