Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that Sadio Mane is in the form of his life after enjoying a superb run towards the end of the season. With his contract set to expire next summer, there have been rumors of a move to German champions Bayern Munich. Ironically this happened almost a decade ago when Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze were linked with a move away prior to the 2013 Champions League final.
“It’s not the first time Bayern Munich rumors come up before a big game so no problems at all. The Bayern Munich rumors, I couldn’t care less. Sadio is completely focused on the game and he knows how important it is for him and us,” Jurgen Klopp said about the Sadio Mane rumors. “Sadio is in the shape of this life, for sure. It’s a joy to watch him training and in games. We ask him a lot and football has asked him a lot with a lot of finals. When you think about how these competitions are won, then I think yes. You are either Ronaldo, Messi, or whoever wins the Champions League. Winning increases his chances definitely.”
“Nobody has to worry about Mo and him taking it too much. We all lost that day, he got injured early in the game. He was in a good shape then and is now. We all get motivated by different things, we have 25 or 26 players,” he added. “It’s not the only motivation in Mo’s case. But it’s normal he wants to put things right. We want to put things right. Tomorrow, if I show the video of the game and it’s the only motivation, it makes no sense. It’s one of the reasons but not the only reason.”
