Lyon came back to training on Monday, with hopefuls from the Champions League being at ease from the coronavirus emergency since mid-March.

Although the Ligue 1 season has been affirmed to be over at the finish of April, leaving OL controversially seventh in the standings and in this way working with the second leg of their European tie against Juventus as a main priority, without a European spot for next season.

The Rhone side was helped by the arrival of Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adelaide, worried about that installation, both of whom trained because of long haul knee wounds sustained in a clash with Rennes since December.

Lyon ‘s outstanding players this season are the two attacking midfielders, with the Dutch international. As he scored eye-catching nine times in 13 Ligue 1 matches in addition to five out of five in the Champions League, his contract is up in the summer of 2021, particularly attractive.

Having dominated the initial game against Maurizio Sarri ‘s side and taking the initiative thanks to Lucas Tousart ‘s goal to join Hertha Berlin this summer, Lyon retains a 1-0 advantage in Turin before the subsequent leg.

The principal French back to work since the Ligue 1 campaign is Rudy Garcia ‘s side who finished the infection, with Lyon coming back to the training pitch an entire week before any of their top-flight rivals.

While PSG will also play in the Champions League, their arrival is planned for June 22 because they have already tied down their passage to the quarter-finals thanks to a 3-2 aggregate victory over Borussia Dortmund – the day Bordeaux, Montpellier, Rennes, and Monaco will all arrival.

The pre-season will be a particularly long one for many Ligue 1 sides, with France’s top-flight not booked for any action until the few days of August 23, when the 2020-21 campaign starts.

Deals will be allowed between household clubs as the French transfer window opened on Monday, to ease any sides’ financial anxieties straining under the weight forced by a lack of action in the course of recent months.
