Cologne insisted that the training would proceed as scheduled

Just two days after three team members tested positive for COVID-19, the German side Koln said they’re able to hold training camps for quarantine.

On April 6, Koln players are back training at the club’s sports center, participating in individual sessions. They endured a setback Friday when three team members had contracted COVID-19 before it emerged.

Cologne insisted that the training would proceed as scheduled  The Bundesliga outfit, however, believes they’re going to resume team training ‘in a secure area’ once politicians allow the campaign to urge back on target.

FC Cologne has revealed plans before expected to transfer into a “quarantine-like” training camp atmosphere if the green light is provided for the Bundesliga season to resume. “The FC [Koln] will enter a training camp with the team within the DFL strict definition,” read a club report. The precondition is for officials to permit continuing the season.

However, Cologne insisted that the training would proceed as scheduled “according to the hygiene and infection prevention measures introduced in community training since 6 April.”

Releasing another update via official club channels on Sunday, Cologne announced that their players and coaches plus backroom staff will close during a “safe area” for team training should the govt offer the go-ahead to return to football.

The club acknowledged that these camps already form a part of the medicine / Extraordinary Matchday Activity Task Force of the German league (DFL), but that they might like better to move thereto stage at the start of the group training cycle instead of every week before matches resumed. we would like to scale back the prospect of the team getting affected right from the beginning then everyone can get won’t to the new situation. That’s why it is the most suitable option for everybody to stay with one another and specialize in our practice, a bit like during a training camp.
