Mikel Arteta expected increasingly significant injury from Bernd Leno however revealed that Arsenal had endured one more injury hit to striker Gabriel Martinelli.

Goalkeeper Leno appeared to have endured a genuine physical issue when he was taken off on a cot on Saturday following a crash with Neal Maupay during Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners, in any case, revealed that Leno had endured in his correct knee just from a minor ligament sprain, and he is relied upon to come back to training in four to about a month and a half.

Arteta told a media meeting: “We figured this would be a progressively genuine physical issue. We don’t have a clue about the seriousness of the injury, however, at least we realize that the cruciate ligaments aren’t affected. That was the greatest worry at the start.”

Granit Xhaka and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are both back in full training after their physical issue, however, Arteta is uncertain if either will be available for the excursion to Southampton on Thursday.

“We haven’t completely practiced with the team; we should perceive how we will be tomorrow. They are not ready yet,” he said.

Martinelli’s Arteta said: “We had some bad news yesterday [Monday]-he got hit by another player in training. He harmed his knee. The doctors are assessing the seriousness of the injury, yet it doesn’t look encouraging at all. It would appear that months.”

Other than their physical issue issues, Arsenal has the complication of having to expand the stays on Tuesday by 12 PM (local time) of loaners Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, and Dani Ceballos-as well as that of David Luiz.
