Bayern Munich declined Philippe Coutinho purchase

Chelsea rose as a favorite to land Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho after Bayern Munich agreed not to purchase. The previous Liverpool man has gone through the second half of this season loaning the German giants, however, they are not keen on reaching the asking cost of £110million.

Barcelona made it clear that after moving from Liverpool in January 2018, Coutinho was surplus to necessities after he failed to dazzle.

They will hit the £105 m they paid forthright for the 27-year-old and could accept as little as £80 m as conceivable. Be that as it may, the coronavirus pandemic means that a couple of clubs will have the option to spend such large amounts in players after nearly three months of desperation for cash.

Coutinho turned Leicester down and Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur were all offered to him.

And his agent Kia Joorabchian made it clear that he wants to come back to the Premier League in South America.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s all a chance. We had a long chat about it after the Champions League game he was playing in England [against Chelsea].

“The Premier League is something in which he’s always delighted in playing, cherished playing in, and without a doubt couldn’t want anything more than to return and play.

“The inquiry is what will be the financial conditions at the finish of this pandemic for all the clubs, including Barcelona and all the Premier League clubs.”

Previous United and Tottenham forward Dimitar Berbatov admits that it is “sad” that the stock of Coutinho has declined so badly, yet recommends that the Red Devils will be moving away from No 10.

He told Betfair: “Coutinho is actually in a tough situation, he’s been doing so well in Liverpool, he’s been fantastic and he has a dream transfer to Barcelona that he’s pushing for.”
